About the Project:This photoshop assginment was not the easiest thing to do. I learned that you really need a lot of patience and you have to be pretty careful when in the process of creating images like this. It was very difficult for me and I struggled, That's why mine is very plain and simple. I just put a couple dogs here and there. If given more time, I probably could have done a lot more. I had a much more creative and better Idea for this, but it didn't work out for me. The goal of this assignment was to change the context of part of the school, so I guess in terms of what was told to be done, there was no real standard or limitation to that and you could say that I at least did what the assignement asked. I just wish I could have been more creative. I feel like I really need to step it up a bit and I'll do better on the next photoshop assignment.

Summary and What I learned:For this assignment, I decided to do food, because I was at my mom's friend's house helping her house sit his dogs and I couldn't come up with anything else I wanted to do. I suppose I could have done animals, but his dogs don't do much so that would have not been great. One thing I learned from this assignment is to get more light, for sure. I was trying to take pictures in front of the window, but they still came out really dim and grainy. I tried my best to mess around with the settings to make it look good and I tried to get the best light I could, but I know most of them didn't turn out as well as I hoped. I tried to fix them in Photoshop, but there was not much I could really do about it. It was a learning experience and I am ready to move on to the next assignment. Best Photo:For this picture, I used a slight vignetting and I turned up the exposure and vibrancy A little bit and also the clarity. I also tried to get rid of some noise and haziness.
Before:After:Summary:This is our second photoshop assignment for the trimester and the goal was to get rid of some distractions, including the seats in the car, so we tinted the front window and we removed the distracting glares on the hood as well and we blackened the background. I learned that photoshop is a lot harder to use than I thought and I did run into some confusion and difficulty along the way, but once you kind of understand what you're doing, it gets easier. Overall it was fun and Im excited for the next photoshop assignment.
Summary and What I learned:For this photo assignment, I decided to do Still life because I was planning on doing it last week, but I changed it, so this week, I thought I should just continue what I was doing. I had these colored pencils previously because I used to draw all the time, but I haven't used them in a couple of years. I was looking online for ideas and found a lot for colored pencils, so I dug them out and got to work. I learned that It was actually a lot more work then I had thought it was going to be and it was pretty difficult, actually. I was painful, because I had to be very precise and careful, especially on the pyramid ones because It kept falling down. The third picture of the pyramid was actually shot as It collapsed and I thought it was cool that I was able to get it and the picture took ans then it immediately collapsed when I heard the beep. It was so close that I had to look to make sure it got the pyramid still in pyramid form. I learned that when it comes to things like this, you really need to e careful and it's harder than it looks. Best Photo:Editing:For editing on my best photo, I took it outside and I used paper on the sidewalk for the background. I boosted up the exposure and I turned up the contrast and Vibrancy to make the colors stand out more. Same thing goes for all my photos down below, as well.
Assignment Summary:This assignment was to get a small idea on how to use Photoshop and to just kind of dip our toes into a different way of editing photos. The assignment was to create an Andy Warhol-like pop art effect to a photo of ourselves or someone else. What I learned:One thing I learned from this assignment was, obviously where some of the tools and shortcuts are in Photoshop. I learned about layers in Photoshop and adding and subtracting Layers. I also learned how to make the 4 squares to create that effect and also how to manipulate the picture to look different. I don't know how to explain it, but I learned how to give it that sketch look , like to unmask and sharpen the photo, and then add the color to each square. This assignment was very interesting and i am excited to see what other fun things we will be doing this trimester with Photoshop and I can't wait to learn even more about it and more about how to create something new from a simple photo.
Summary and What I learned:For this photo assignment, I chose to do Architecture as my subject. My dad was going down town Ann Arbor and I figured it would be a good place to take some pictures. I used a bunch of different buildings and positions. One problem I had with this assignment is that it was slightly raining outside and every time I tried to take a picture, it took me at least 3 shots to not get a drop on the lens. I did not break the camera though. I thought this assignment was pretty fun and a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I learned that it really takes more than just one shot to take a simple picture. It takes so much more time and effort to really take a good picture. I learned that there can really be a picture opportunity wherever you go and I've been paying more attention to my surroundings and my lighting when it comes to things, even in my Snapchats. I also learned how pretty some buildings can actually be. I saw detail and beauty in things that I normally just never would have noticed. I am excited to try new things and to find out what I can really do with a camera. My Best Photo:Some things I did to edit this photo is I lowered the saturation, brightened the exposure, removed some noise, moved the contrast a little. I also played around with the vignetting settings. The rest of my photos can be seen down below.
Assignment Description:This is our first assignment for Digital photography. The assignment was to take a picture of an example of each type of composition, such as Color, framing, perspective, spacing, symmetry, etc... This assignment was kind of difficult for me because I am not the best at taking pictures and it was kind of harder for me to find a good example of each. These are some of the better of the pictures I took. What I learned:I deffinently learned a lot from this assignemnt because going into it, I never really knew anything about how to take better pictures and make them look more appealing, I used to always just take pictures at random and never payed much attention to how or where in the picture. I also realized that it's a whole lot harder to take a picture then I thought, I had to take some picture multiple times before I feel comfortable with the picture, although that might only be because I'm getting graded for them. I definently had a hard time with balance because I was realling confused about it at first and didn't really know how to find a picture to take for that. I'm glad that I got to learn more about how to place things in photos to make them seem more appealing and interesting and to stand out more. I can't wait for more projects to come this trimester!
Hello, I'm Cindy! I'm 17 years old and some things I do are run Cross country, Indoor Track, Regular track, and I lift. I love to sing and I like music. I used to be in choir, but now I don't have room in my schedule. Some things I like to do in my free time would be hanging out with friends. I usually don't do anything else because I don't have time. I am going to Eastern when I graduate and i'm going to become a nurse. Some reasons why I took this digital photography class is because I needed technology credits to graduate. My aunts friend is a photographer and he sometimes pays me to do photo shoots for him. I do not have very much experience with photography myself other than taking selfies, so we'll see how this class goes! |
